L'Espace Culturel Le Songhoi

Just close to Le Djandjo in Faladje, Zouzou, one of the most talented young artist of the country (you can watch his music videos on youtube) owns L'Espace Culturel Le Songhoi.  A nice live music club that offers a very big show, mixing all kind of music from Mali all night from wednesday to sunday.

So every wednesday night: Oumou Konta a young female artist performs from 10 to 2 am

Every thursday night: You have a Dj mixing Malinke music all night.

Friday night: Issa Bamaba, young male artist performs till 2 in the morning.

Saturday night: The owner Zouzou, very talended  singer invites another very famous female singer Fatoumata Djo Kaloga to join him on the scene for great show all night from 10pm to 2 in the morning. If you are in Bamako and wants to hang out on saturday night, this is one of the places to go to.

Sunday night: You have a Dj making you dance all night mixing music from Ivory Cost.

Le Songhai offers different options of dishes from Songhai (one of the ethnitics groups of the northside Mali) to beef grills, fish, sandwich etc.

Le Parc Des Princes-Le Djandjo

At around 5 munites from the airport in Faladje neighborhood, Alassane MAIGA and his brother Ag welcome you in the club Le Parc Des Princes-Le Djandjo. Every day of the week, Le Djandjo offers very great shows with famous artist from all over the country.

Monday: Very famous female artist Saramba Kouyaté performs from 10pm to 2 in the morning.

Tuesday: Female singer Sadio Sidibé 10pm to 2 am 

Wednesday and thursday: Famous male artist from Sikasso Alou Sangaré performs from 10 to 2 in the morning.

Friday night: Very famous male artist from Gao (north Mali) Baba Salah hits the scene all night between 10 to 3 in the morning.

Saturday:  Male artist Issa Bamba performs from 10 to 3 am.

Sunday: Male artist Djeli Makan Kouyaté performs all night till 2 in the morning.

Le Parc des Princes Le Djandjo has also a restaurant, they propose African and Europen specialities.

Maquis Le Diplomate

Dear Night Lifers WELCOME TO BAMAKO. Assama DOLO, the manager and all the staff welcome you in the "Maquis Le Diplomate", certainly one of the best Live Music clubs here in Bamako. Created in 2007, the Diplomate is located on the main road to Koulikoro, on the left side (all the taxi driver knows the way).

Every Thursday Night: You will find the Malinké style music orchestra with singer Fodé Sango & the Frankan orchestra from 7:30 pm to 12 in the morning.

Every Friday Night: One of the most famous and worldwide known Malian artist Toumani Diabaté performs with his Symmetric Orchestra from 10:30 pm to 2 in the morning.

Every Saturday Night: Nampé Sadio, new generation artist performs from 10:30 pm to 2 in the morning.

And every Sunday Night: The "Grin of the Diplomate show" with Dj Idriss, a very famous and young artist jams from 7:30 pm to 12 in the morning.

About Me

I was born in Saraféré, Timbuktu and grew up in Mopti (in the middle of Mali). I've been living here in Bamako, the capital town of Mali, for 11 years now. My name is Baba Kalidi KASSAMBALA, but everybody calls me KASS.

I have a 13 years of experience as a certified National tour guide. Aside from translating local languages to French and English, I also enlighten visitors to the uniqueness and subtleties of the distinctive cultures in Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Cost, Guinea and Mauritania.

I have 3 years of experience as a Director and Editor of music videos and Documentary films at ORTM (Office de Radio diffusion et Television du Mali), the major tv station of Mali and I make music videos for up and coming artists.

I am a huge fan of Live music and we have so many excellent clubs here for music. 

But there is no news paper, website, or radio to find out about what is happening-- like which clubs to go to for the best live music, or which singer or bands are performing and where. Any time my customers are here, I have to call different friends in different places to know where to take my tourists. That's why I have decided to create this blog Night Life Bamako.

I will compile a list for you of what is happening in all the different clubs and keep it up dated, along with pictures and my K-DREAM VIDEOS.
